Easter Egg Hunt

My work does an annual Easter Egg Hunt. C, S, & MK always love it.
There are a ton of eggs and treasures to find. And it's over in a mad dash. It's crazy and fun.
The areas are sectioned off by age groups. The boys went together to the older kids area. In fact, C was actually too old for it this year (which I told him) and he still brought his Easter Basket and hunted. Oops. - Family

Papa's Breakfastaria Restaurant

C opened a restaurant tonight in our living room tonight.
He named his restaurant "Papa's Breakfastaria."
The menu: Scrambled Eggs and Oatmeal.
He waited on the table, kept the drinks topped off, and provided a bill at the end of the meal. - Family

I sent this photo to R, who is out of town to show him how we are living large while he is away.
His response: At least somebody will be able to take care of us in our old age.

Piano Playing Princess

Found MK at the piano. - Family

C put masking tape on 5 keys and labeled each key for MK.
I wrote down the notes for "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and this is her practicing.

WIP Wednesday #4 - Getting Angry

I hate this quilt. Making this quilt is like a roller coaster: sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it.

Right now, I hate it.

Even though I took this picture, I need to pull it apart and try again because the middle seam doesn't match up. All because of the open seam. - Fractured Flower Quilt Block

This pattern instructs to press most seams open, which makes it VERY difficult to match up seams when piecing it to another. And I really don't like pressing seams open. It takes FOREVER.

I'm getting very close to finishing this thing. I could just take a break from it, which I might do. Maybe if I work on something else for a while I'll start to love this quilt again.

Saturday Ice Cream Run

The kids and I have a standing promise. Each Saturday, we have a list of chores needed to be completed. If they get them all done in a certain amount of time we will go out for a treat. Usually, they like to go to The Red Barn for homemade ice cream. This Saturday, they wanted to go to DQ. - Family

Getting Dressed

I sent S down to his room to get dressed for church this morning, and he came back up 10 minutes later looking like this: - Family
S dressed himself

I couldn't help it: I laughed. He REALLY didn't see it until I pointed it out to him that his shirt wasn't buttoned up properly. Of course, I had to take a picture before helping him fix it.

While Dad's Away, The Family Will Play

The boys had Friday off from school. Instead of sitting around all day, we went out to play.
First, we went to the movies and watched "OZ The Great and Powerful." The boys liked it. MK liked it overall but got scared quite a bit.
Next, we got some pretzel bites for us all to share.
After that, the kids played at the play area at the mall.
We did go home, where C treated his brother and sister to a show by setting off a volcanic explosion. - Family

R is away this weekend. When we talked with him before bed after our eventful day R told me "You guys always do fun things while I'm away."

State Chess Tournament

Saturday was the State Elementary Chess Tournament.
C & S both were able to participate and had a great time.
The tournament was held at the University of Utah.
They had to be in their seats by 8:15 am, which mean we had to leave at 6:30 am.
The awards didn't happen until 5 pm. It was a very long day. But a fun one.

Tooth Fairy: You've Been Put on Notice

On Thursday, S came running out to the car after school. He was so excited: He has a loose tooth.
He told me: Today is the first day I've ever had a loose tooth.
He had to call R as soon as he got home from school to share the good news.

(We had to get up close and personal with the photo so you could see his bottom tooth was loose.) - Family

Tooth Fairy: You've been put on notice. S is loosing his tooth soon. Get the loose coins ready.
